The mammoth ski flying jump is a real rarity, one of only five jumps of its type in the whole world.<\/p>\n The Mumlava Falls is a waterfall almost 10 metres high, situated in the Harrachov basin on the Mumlava River, some 2 km from Harrachov, in a protected area of the Giant Mountains National Park. From a hydrological perspective, it is one of the most massive waterfalls in the Czech Republic, making it one of the most beautiful and most popular falls in Bohemia.<\/p>\n To see a museum of glass, a microbrewery with a restaurant and a hotel with a beer spa all in one place, visit the Novosad glassworks in Harrachov. The glassworks was founded in 1722 and is one of the oldest in the Czech Republic. What makes it unique is its historic glass grinding plant, powered by gears and a water wheel. You can buy hand-blown, cut, engraved, painted and other types of decorated glass at the glassworks. <\/span><\/b><\/p>\n The only rack railway in the Czech Republic. Few railways have as much to boast of as the Jizera-Krkono\u0161e Tanvald \u2013 Harrachov \u2013 Szklarska Por\u0119ba railway line, number 035 in the timetable. The trains on this line once had to struggle up an elevation of several hundred metres and therefore used racks on the steepest section from Tanvald to Ko\u0159enov. What makes it so interesting is not only its unique design, but also its rich history. It has become a regular travel destination for admirers of railways and engineering heritage from all over Europe, and in 1992 the Tanvald – Ko\u0159enov section was declared a cultural monument by the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic. effort can take the chair lift from Karpacze in Poland up to Kopa, from where it is just 1.5 km to the summit of Sn\u011b\u017eka. . However, those who want to get their under their own steam have to prepare themselves for a hike of 30 km or so, so most walkers obviously take advantage of the the chance to sleep over in a mountain chalet. The Lu\u010dn\u00ed bouda, V\u00fdrovka and Martinova bouda chalets are ideal for this. You don\u2019t have to take the same route back to Harrachov; there\u2019s a beautiful trail from M\u00edse\u010dky to Dvora\u010dky, over Kotel mountain. There\u2019s a somewhat easier route from Karpacze in Poland; this is a pleasant trail and takes you past two glacial lakes!<\/p>\n The source of our most famous Czech river, the Elbe, rises on the Elbe meadow, very close to the state border with Poland. In 1684, this spring was symbolically consecrated by Jan of Talemberk, the Bishop of Hradec Kr\u00e1lov\u00e9, making the Elbe Meadow a definitive part of Czech territory.<\/p>\n Pan\u010dava Falls is the highest waterfall in the Czech Republic, with a total height of 148 metres. This is where the Pan\u010dava stream leaves the Pan\u010dava Meadow and falls down into the Elbe Valley. The waterfall can be reached by following the red footpath markers between the Labsk\u00e1 and Vrbatova bouda chalets.<\/p>\n This memorial was built on the Vrbatova plateau 1400 metres above sea level near the Vrbatova bouda chalet to commemorate the skiers Bohumil Han\u010d and V\u00e1clav Vrbata, who died not far from there on 24 March 1913 during a 50-kilometre skiing championship race.
